About Me

I am a 30-something girl that really needs a lot of motivation to help me lose some weight.  After reading a lot of other people's blogs, I decided that starting my own blog might be a great way to hold me accountable.  After all, should I ever get any readers, I wouldn't want to let them down. If you want to know more about why I started a blog, you can read that here

I have lived many places in my life including Houston, Atlanta, and Washington, DC, but I am currently in Orlando and have lived here almost 7 years now.  Crazy how time flies!
Never to old to ride Dumbo!
I actually live with my trainer, Jason, but being that we live together and I don't pay him to train me anymore, we have a hard time finding time that works in both of our schedules to train.  When I used to train with him regularly, I was almost 50 lbs. lighter, so we made a deal to start that back up again.  I'm excited to get back into him kicking my ass on a regular basis!!

Between Jason and myself, we have a total of 4 dogs - yes I said 4!!  It's makes for a crazy household, but there's always someone around that wants to snuggle and you can't beat that!

By day I am a civil engineer.  Everyone always asks me what I actually do and I design airfields - i.e., runways, taxiways, aprons, etc.  People always seem to be impressed when I tell them this, but it really isn't as interesting as it sounds.  I have never thought of myself as your typical engineer as I actually am a very social person.  I like to think of it as a compliment when people tell me that I don't seem like an engineer.

Two of my favorite things in the world are beer and trivia.  Combine them into the same night and I couldn't be happier!!

I have always been active.  I played all kinds of sports growing up and I played softball in college at Georgia Tech (Go Jackets!).  I have done countless numbers of 5K races and I have done 4 sprint triathlons.  Running has always been a nemesis of mine and has become even harder for me over the years (and pounds), but I'm determined to conquer my running demons.  Even though I've stayed active, I definitely could be better about working out.

No one looks good in goggles! (I'm the one on the left)
In addition to running, my other nemesis (and the real reason I've gained weight) is food.  I have a really hard time eating healthy, but I'm determined to make a change.
Join me in my quest to love not hate running, get fit, lose weight, and be healthy!
